Southern Thailand

Program Dates:
Session 1: 1st to 10th October 2018
Session 2: 14th to 23rd October 2018
This program can accommodate a maximum of 10 participants (5 per session).

About The Program:
Ten days volunteering in beautiful, tropical southern Thailand with its famous islands as your landscape. Our aim during this project is to assist a local run shelter and their Thai veterinary team with their continual animal welfare efforts in providing care to, and ensuring the health of, the dogs and cats living on the streets and in the surrounding villages. All veterinary treatments are carried out by Thai veterinary staff and assisted by Pawesome volunteers.

Who’s it for?
Veterinary Nurses or students.
Whether you are still studying or have several years of experience this program will provide you with a unique insight into what it’s like to work outside of Australia (and other western countries) where clinic luxuries are often sparse. Are you up for the challenge?

Applicants should be 18 years or older, comfortable handling animals, okay working in a hot and humid environment, and getting their hands (and everything else) dirty. Fluency in English is required.

Trip Highlights:
•Seven days teamed up with our Thai partner at their clinic. The clinic provides free medical treatments to the poor communities and their pets as well as the many homeless animals living in the area.
•Down time to relax in the warm waters and enjoy the white sand of Thailand’s beautiful beaches.

What’s Included:
•All meals – please note meals provided on field project days are simple thai style noodle or rice dishes cooked from local produce that vary by season. They are generally 100% plant based. At other times our meals are eaten at restaurants offering a selection catering to all tastes/dietary requests. Safe drinking water will be provided. For additional dietary requirements please speak with us.
•Accommodation – simple shared rooms with fans, usually 2 persons per room
•Transport to/from Airport*
•Work related transport
•24 hour support by your Pawesome team leader throughout the trip
•Pre-departure support by phone/email by a Pawesome team member
