Sarah’s Past Accomplishments

Past success stories of Sarah Wexler and the veterinary projects she has taken part in during her career as a veterinary nurse.

Planned Pethood International Spay and Neuter Clinic
Merida, Mexico
January 2016
On Sarah’s most recent visit to Mexico she attended the Planned Pethood International 2016 Spay and Neuter Campaign. This is an annual mobile spay and neuter clinic that occurs yearly each January. 2016 was an extremely successful year, with over 2,500 dogs and cats receiving sterilization.

HART – Himalaya Animal Rescue and Treatment
Pokhara, Nepal
April 2015
Sarah volunteered for a week (pre-earthquake) at HART Pokhara during her travels in Nepal and she continued to work with the HART ground crew during the earthquake aftermath running medical supplies to them in remote areas when the team could not leave an area to restock.

Elephant Nature Park
Chaing Mai, Thailand
2014-2015
Sarah found herself living in Thailand for almost two years and during this time she worked at Elephant Nature Park, one of Thailand’s largest animal sanctuaries. It was here Sarah really found her niche. Sarah ran the small animal clinic at Elephant Nature Park and as such had well over 500 patients (mostly dogs and cats) requiring different kinds of care, some more regularly then others.

WVS – Mission Rabies
Chenai & Kalcutta, India
September 2013
Sarah joined the very first WVS Mission Rabies Campaign for a month long journey into some of the poorest (and dirtiest) areas in India she has ever seen. During the month long campaign WVS Mission Rabies members vaccinated more than 60,000 Indian dogs against the fatal Rabies Virus.

International Animal Rescue (IAR)
Goa, India
April 2011
On Sarah’s first trip to India in 2011, she found herself in Goa and what better way to spend three weeks there then to volunteer her services at IAR. During Sarah’s time at IAR she was assigned to the post-surgery ward were as many as 80 dogs needed to be attended to daily. This was Sarah’s very first volunteer position outside of developed countries and she soon knew shelter medicine was the area where she would continue to focus her career on.
